Training and development at wing in Cambodia
Abstract
Human is the most important resource and also the most complexity part of the functioning of the organization. There are many research and studies done related to human resource and have been compiled for guiding management staff on how to manage human resource performance towards positive outcome. Therefore, in order to improve the staff performance in exchange with the high productivity within the company, WING has initiated the trainings necessary for developing the staff skills to perform the jobs. The objective of this study focuses on the training and development process and the effectiveness of the training provided by WING.
In order to realize how the training is conducted and its effectiveness, I have conducted extensive research and study on the existing literature review comparing with the current practice done by the HRD towards staff training and development. Also, the questionnaire survey, work observation, and face-to-face interviews were used as the key tools in collecting both primary and secondary data.
The results showed that almost 70% of the total respondents mentioned that they are satisfied with trainings so far and they also mentioned the training has contributed in their skills and knowledge. In addition, not only they have improved their skills and knowledge but they also build a close relationship with each other in each session. What so special about training according to the survey is that they could share experienced related to the problem that they have faced and how they solved it to bring it up to the discussions which make everybody feel very good about that. In conclusion, the trainings of WING contribute a lot of benefits to the staff capacity building and motivate employees to continue working in the company longer. However, to make the trainings to be more successful and effective, some recommendation are made: 1. Providing more soft skills related trainings available for all staffs, 2. Provide more times and more example, 3. Selecting the highly qualified and experienced the resource person or trainers and facilitator, 4. The company sometimes should change the training place in order to get a fresh feeling and new environment, 5. The company should expand the training room, 6. The trainer should improve more knowledge.
