Abstract
Every small or large enterprise and organization concern about its performance as it’s one of the most important indicators for its success. There’re so many ways to incease the performance, however, the effectiveness and efficiency of such ways are still in questions. Hence, the need for appropriate guidance, suggestion, and recommendation to improve the performance is always high. Every organization would be willing to pay for these suggestion. This thesis looks at the common factors expected to have correlation with performance. Such factors belong to motivational factors, and the thesis aims to investigate relationship between these factors with performance with unit of analysis that is individuals. As affecting on individual’s level of motivation is also considered as easy conduct, it would save a lot for every organization to give care about it. After all, acknowledging the relationship would help these enterprise and organization gain references for new policies as well as strategies implementation.
Previous study and research’s literature reviews about related concepts of motivation and performance together with personal experience and recommendation from highly experienced employees, managers and experts has brought about the proposed model of this thesis. 7 factors of motivation have been defined and put into the model as independent variables that were payment (PM), training and development (TAD), job satisfaction (JS), leadership (LS), working environment (WE), work life balance (WLB) and recognition (RC). Quantitative approaches were use to process data. Specifically, there were several analyses applied such as descriptive, reliability, validity and regression analysis. The data were randomly collected from employees from different departments of Regent Garment Factory. After all of data were put into these analyses, there were statistically significant results supporting all relationship of the proposed model. The thesis found that there were high correlations between training and development, payment, working environment and work-life balance with job performance. It also brought about meaningful suggestions for specifically Regent Garment Factory and generally other related field organizations and might be other enterprises and organizations as well to implement appropriate policies and strategies with high level of effectiveness and efficiency.
However, this thesis also concerns some limitation as it seems not easy to be widely applicable and generalized to other fields of business. Also biases could be brought about due to company culture, geographical matter, and personal perception, interest and emotion.
