The impact of blackboard tools as an application of information and communications technology on student academic performance - A case of International university
Abstract
In the last century, we have moved from the Industrial Age to the Information Age and today we live in an age of knowledge. With increasing information, fast-growing science, the world is changing faster than ever, so the life cycle of textbooks is shorter. In order to meet the needs of the fastest information updates, along with scientific information centers delivered online to provide knowledge, Blackboard tool are born and developed, with many advantages of updating information and storage capacity of information.
Blackboard learning system has proven its tremendous benefits and is widely used in schools and universities in developed countries, playing an important role in enhancing teaching and learning. Currently, Blackboard is still quite new in Vietnam. Although being new in the market, Blackboard plays an important role in the school's learning management system and has great potential for growth in the near future. However, not many have provided a complete research model for online learning management tools, especially in the context of the explosion of information and communications technology and the Internet.
The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of Blackboard tool as an application of information and communications technology on student academic performance, discovering the relationship among the variables of proposed framework in the academic context.
