Assessment is a multi-purpose product that is developed as a tool for assisting HR managers in selection, coaching, training, promotion, managing, and succession planning; a tool to help companies ensure their job fit and thus, reducing the cost of bad hires and turnover. This tool has been used extensively in developed countries. However, little has been known about the current usage as well as whether it works well in companies in Vietnam. The purpose of this research is to obtain a better understanding about HR People‟s attitudes and practices on using assessment and so as to make recommendation for marketers in launching the product in Vietnamese market. Both qualitative and quantitative methods are used in this study. The primary data was collected by personal interview and survey. The results of this study show that though assessment is not commonly used in Vietnam, this product has impact to employees‟ turnover rate. By using this product, employers will understand every employee and firm can retain its people. These findings are very significant and informative for marketers in setting marketing strategy for the product. Strategic marketing implications have been suggested at the end of the study.en_US
