Determinants of banks profitability - A case of Vietinbank
Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the factors that affect the profitability of
VietinBank in the period of 2010-2017. Within the scope of this study, the focus is mainly
on the impact of factors from the two main groups, namely: internal bank factors (micro
factors) and macro factors. Research using linear regression model to run data. The results
showed that the group of micro-factors such as Asset and NPL negatively affected
profitability while Funding had a positive relationship with ROE but negative with ROA.
In addition, macroeconomic factors such as INF inflation are also factors affecting the
profitability of the bank positively.
