Factors affecting employees' job satisfaction - A study of Korean enterprises in Vietnam
Abstract
In recent years, South Korean firms have been boosting direct investment to Vietnam thanks to tax exemption and favorable conditions. However, there is difference in culture and operating style which engenders some difficulties in HR strategies and management. Some internal records reveals the fact that employees are not satisfied with their job and thus leads to their intention to leave off current position.
This study attempted to examine the effect of several factors including but not limit to leadership behaviors, training, compensation and benefits, recognition, career advancement and relationship with co-worker on the level of satisfaction on their job. These listed factors were believed to have direct impact on employees’ job satisfaction.
Quantitative approach was mainly applied, using a questionnaire which was delivered to 250 employees working in Korean enterprises throughout Vietnam. The results yielded that six out of seven independent variables, namely Leadership Behaviors (LB), Relationship with Co-worker (RWC), Career Advancement (CA), Training (TR), Recognition (RC), Compensation and Benefits (CB) were significantly correlated with job satisfaction (JS).
