| dc.description.abstract | This research examined the factors affecting the entrepreneurial intentions of university students and compare the different effect of culture on the intention. By using Theory of Planned Behavior, the antecedents of students‘ entrepreneurial intention was tested through three factors Personal Attitude, Subjective Norms and Perceived Behavioral Control. Moreover, the effect of culture on the intention was considered through collectivism/individualism dimensions on Subjective Norms. The comparison was made by surveying 250 Vietnamese students and 263 Japanese students, using quantitative approach with statistical techniques applied, including factor analysis, model check and multigroup analysis. The result showed the difference exists in the effect of culture on entrepreneurial intentions between Vietnamese students and Japanese students. While Japan is a more individualism country compared to Vietnam, the relationship of Subjective Norm on Entrepreneurial Intention is not significant. On the other hand, there is a relationship between Subjective Norm and Entrepreneurial Intention founded within Vietnamese students. Similarly, the findings of the research show that Vietnam is more collectivism country compared to Japan, the effect of Subjective Norm on Personal Attitude and Perceived Behavioral Control is stronger than those effects in Japan.
