Effects Of Bank Concentration On Corporate Investment In Asia
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the relationship between bank concentration and corporate investment in Asia. My research of the trend in bank concentration from 1996 to 2017 reveals considerable changes that occurred throughout that period. Additionally, there has been limited research on this subject to date, with small sample and examination numbers, as well as older data sets. However, according to publicly available World Bank Data databank on bank concentration, there are considerable disparities in bank concentration among regions and industries globally, which may result in differences in the influence of bank concentration on corporate investments. This thesis applies a generalized method of moments (GMM) estimator.
