Measures of improving the efficiency of the Tra fish supply chain management- The case of QVD aquaculture

Abstract

This thesis sought to learn about and analyze the “tra fish supply chain” and propose feasible measures to improve its management efficiency within QVD Aquaculture. The main objective of this study was to contribute to the company‟s effort in dealing with existing problems in its current tra fish supply chain. The research methodology used in this study was qualitative case study, in which in- depth interviews and direct observation are considered primary data. The output from these interviews and observations would be checked and verified by various interviewees, along with other reliable secondary data in the context of tra fish supply chain to make generation of feasible measures to deal with its problems, as well as to improve the whole chain‟s management. The interview participation of 9 staff members who looked like to provide useful information from two companies: QVD Aquaculture and Thuan Hung Co., Ltd revealed that raw material cultivation was the most problematic stage of QVD‟s tra fish supply chain. Based on the analysis of interviewees‟ suggestions and experts‟ opinions, the author proposed some feasible measures to deal with problems found in this stage.

Due to limitation of research time and relevant costs, there were not any quantitative research methods utilized in association with the qualitative case study for the output result. Therefore, this study may have some implication restrictions. However, it is hoped to be a good reference for QVD Aquaculture‟s committee in effort of optimizing its tra fish supply chain management efficiency.
