Planning a development strategy for Mekong production trading joint stock company in period 2011-2015
Abstract
In recent years, strategic planning is not a new phenomenon. Developing a strategy becomes so much important in running business since it is a road map to generate revenues in any type of business. It is therefore necessary to plan a development strategy
for every business so as to enhance the revenues and profits.
Recognizing this situation, my dissertation is aimed to develop an overall strategy for the development of Mekong Production Trading Joint Stock Company-a company operating
in paper industry in the next five years.
This thesis uses qualitative method with the main data collection techniques: interview, questionnaire and observation. Two managers in sales department were interviewed in order to understand deeply about Mekong’s business. Furthermore, questionnaires were also used to collect and analyze strengths and weaknesses of Company through customers’ evaluation and employees’ self-assessment. The sources of information consist of textbooks, Mekong’s documents, reports and internet articles.
The result of this research is a feasible strategic plan based on the analysis of internal and external environment together with the combination of other functional strategies which
are defined by SWOT.
Finally the paper will make some recommendations for better effectiveness of Mekong’s
strategy.
