dc.description.abstractWorking capital financing on the basis of credit contributes significant income for commercial banks. This bank credit form helps enterprises not only solve the temporary shortage of cash, but also increase autonomy and flexibility in investment decision makings. As potential clients, foreign-invested enterprises are offered a lot in this bank credit form by the commercial banks in Vietnam. However, due to several complex procedures when accessing to capital from Vietnam commercial banks, the foreign banks in Vietnam are often a choice of those foreign firms. To HSBC, working capital financing is one of crucial commercial services to be conducted mainly with multinational corporations doing business in Vietnam. However, the current issues related to this bank credit form at HSBC need to be cautiously considered from the initial procedures including client limit owing to the fierce competition from other commercial banks in Vietnam, shortcomings in assessment quality, risk management, and the disbursement of the bank, mortgage issue, and limitations on corporate quality in business environment like Vietnam. Without opportune solutions, the bank could have suffered negative outcomes like losing the market shares, reducing profit, increasing credit risk, and realizing reputation risk. By qualitative method approach, this research was conducted to indentify current problems related to working capital financing including their possible causes and effects. Finally, some solutions were recommended in order to improve and enhance the quality of this bank credit form, and help the bank compete with others in this market share. The study was dedicated to contributing a valuable view to working capital financing to the foreign-invested enterprises at HSBC, its clients, and other researchers.en_US
