dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to study the effects of medium compositions,
cultivation conditions and Siraitia grosvenorii extracts on mycelium production and
polysaccharides production of Ganoderma lucidum. The experiments were designed
based on conventional method, one factor was varied at a time and two parameters
including cell growth (dry weight, and mycelium diameter) and crude
polysaccharides, (intracellular polysaccharides: IPS and extracellular
polysaccharides: EPS) were compared. Among the examined factors, carbon
concentration, and pH showed significant influences. Under optimized conditions:
glucose with a concentration of 20 g/l, pH of 6, and cultivation time of 4 days,
1.893 ± 0.565 g/l dry weight and 0.938 ± 0.288 g/l polysaccharides were obtained. Interestingly, S. grosvenorii fruit showed remarkably effects on both dry weight and polysaccharides production. Addition of S. grosvenorii extract could enhance dry weight production 2.44 times and polysaccharide production 1.93 times. Since there has not been any research attempting to investigate effect of S. grosvenorii on PS and dry weight production of G. lucidum, the finding of this current study can be served as the basic knowledge for further relevant studies.
