Modeling and simulation order picking process: A case study in customer distribution warehouse of DKSH
Abstract
The order picking is well known as the most labor insensitive and costly for almost warehouse. That makes order picking become the first candidate for improvement. In this thesis, an application of engineering simulation on a computer system, the combination of many skills in industrial engineering, such as simulation process design, facility planning, supply chain, management, and several skill to analyze the input and output to analysis the current situation in DKSH distribution warehouse and find down possible solution. Lack of time and experience to analysis and research the other problem is appearing within warehouse operation and management. This thesis just brings out the model of simulation and the developing model. Some limitations still exist in routing problem.
