Clinacanthus nutans (Burm.f.) Lindau belongs to the family of Acanthaceae including many species, which are known to have medical properties. There were many researchers had tested its leaves biological activities. This research aims to investigate antioxidant and anticancer activity of its body. β-Sitosterol-3-O- β glucopyranoside, β-Sitosterol-3-O- β glucoside and sub- fraction F-III were extracted and identified from ethyl acetate extract. Their structure were determined by compared with other published data. DPPH Scavenging Assay was used to evaluate the antioxidant activity. The anticancer activity was evaluated on HepG2, NCI H460, MCF-7 and Hela. The sub-fraction F-III showed quite strong cytotoxicity when against HepG2 with IC50 value of 36.80 µg/ml but no effect on antioxidant assay. Key words: Clinacanthus nutans, β-Sitosterol-3-O- β glucoside, β-Sitosterol-3-O- β glucopyranoside, HepG2, DPPH, RSB.en_US
