This study aimed to investigate the oral anti-diabetic activity of quercetin-3-Oarabinofuraroside from ethyl acetate extract of Euphorbia thymifolia Linn in Vietnam. The isolated compound was tested for its hypoglycemic effect on STZ/NAD-induced diabetes mice. The acute oral toxicity of the compound was also evaluated. The result showed that quercetin-3-O-arabinofuraroside (50 mg/kg) significantly reduced blood glucose level up to 28.69% in STZ/NAD– induced diabetes mice, after 4 hours of administration. This finding indicates that quercetin-3-O-arabinofuraroside may play the key role in reducing blood glucose level of type 2 diabetes Key words: antidiabetic, Euphorbia thymifolia Linn, quercetin-3-Oarabinofuraroside, hypoglycemic, STZ/NAD.en_US
