dc.description.abstractThis research mainly attempted to examine the connection between internet addiction and academic performance among undergraduates. Gender and residential place factors were tested to identify the relationship between them and internet abuse level. Besides, the purpose of internet usage, the high school performance, and part time job were considered to be factors affecting academic success. By using quantitative approach to survey subjects and SPSS software to get the result of Independent sample t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, the research found that the internet addiction was negatively associated with students’ academic performance. Further, gender and residential places have different contribution for internet dependence level. Moreover, high school performance and the different purpose of internet usage did not relate to academic performance, while there were differences in academic results among intensity of employment time.
