The aim of this study is to evaluate the antioxidant activity and the antiinflammation activity of compounds isolated from Clinacanthus nutans (burm.f) Lindau. Column chromatography, preparative thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and Medium Pressure Liquid Chromatography were applied to separate and purify methanol extract to isolate two pure compounds and one component of alkaloids. Structure elucidation of the isolated compounds was carried out on the basic of spectra analyses, including 1H NMR, 13C-NMR, HMBC, HSQC and COSY. One pure compounds 3-amino-4,5-dihydroxyfuran-2(3H)-one (C4H5NO4), (CN1) and two fraction of CN2 and alkaloids (CNAs) were collected. In this study, DPPH Radical Scavening Assay was used for evaluation antioxidant activity on CN1, CN2 and a group of alkaloid compounds (CNAs) with IC50 = 105.66µg/mL, 110µg/mL and 88µg/mL respectively. Moreover, Carrageenan-induced mice paw odema model was used to evaluate the activity of anti-inflammation of Clinacanthus Nutans (Burm.f) Lindau which showed the reliable efficiency of CN1 and CNAs on against inflammation.
