Water pollution is one of the most serious problems of moderning civilization. The consumption of water has been doubling on every twenty years but reduction of this period is expected if today’s trends continue in water use (Velasevic and Djorovic, 1998). The invention also relates to the aquatic plant and, in particular, the water hyacinth obtained by the process, and the juice extracted from water hyacinth, and its applications, inter alia as a plant growth biostimulant. The objectives of this study were to test the role of water hyacinth extract in the sequencing batch reactor system and explore the effects of water hyacinth extract to the growth of mung beans. This paper shows the efficiency of the supplied water hyacinth extract in the sequencing batch reactor system. It was maintain concentration mixed liquor suspended (MLSS) 2000 mg/L, 4000 mg/L after 4 days. The chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) were significantly (P<0.05) higher than that in the sequencing batch reactors without water hyacinth extract. The result also indicated that the average growth height of mung bean watered by water hyacinth extract (15.02 cm) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than that in the watered by tap water (9.56 cm).
