Stock allocation in warehouse. A case study at Tan Long Van company
Abstract
In this thesis about stock allocation problem, we concerned about two main objectives to minimize the flow cost as well as prevent decentralization of item of the same type. By using a number of operational constraints along with proposing different penalty cost of neighbor, thesis is able to fulfill the objectives. This thesis presents a mathematical model to solve the problem with the aim to change the layout of block stacking boxed items into the dedicated storage policy layout along with each type of items specific locations. The model is implemented on CPLEX. A sample problem in a company with warehouse was carried out. The result obtained after running the model with implied realistic data collected from the case study is demonstrated in a table. The table illustrated the certain places of certain types of items. However, the scope of this thesis is limited only to warehouse with one in and out door located at the middle of the warehouse and storage medium is rack with rectangular shape.
Keywords: warehouse, storage policy, stock allocation, block stacking, penalty cost.
