Vehicle routing problem with delivery and time windows. A case study in Goldden rice company
Abstract
This thesis aims to model and solve the optimal truck routing schedule that minimizes the total travel distance of trucks within company constraints for Golden Rice Company. Golden Rice company has transport forces with trucks adequate fast and efficient for deliveries of goods to distribution channel at the marketplace. The major concern of the Company is how capacitated vehicles must be routed to minimize the cost of transportation as well as complete all the customer requests. In addition, vehicle routes must also satisfy the vehicle capacity constraint for delivery and time windows. Therefore, this thesis will focus on the vehicle routing problem (VRP) that particularly for delivery and time windows. The goal is to provide Golden Rice Company's decision makers with a model and tool to implement delivery and time windows vehicle routing optimization models in logistics.
The main limitations of this thesis are some cases that happen in vehicle routing problem such as split delivery, dynamic problem are not considered.
