Embryonic stem cells (ESCs), with their high capacity to self-renew and unlimited regenerative potential, have generated a great interest as a developmental model in biology and a new source of cells for tissue replacement treatments in regenerative medicine. While derivation of human embryonic stem cell from human blastocyst is facing with ethical problem, derivation of mouse embryonic stem cell from mouse blastocyst is much more important, reseaching on mouse can help scientists understand theories, overcome dificulitues and apply for human. Therefore, the study and optimization of establishment of ES cell lines from mouse embryos is a useful and necessary. This project is carried out to study the different stages of embryo during preimplantation development and the efficient establishment of mouse embryonic stem cell. Although this method has been published and succeeded in a hundred of project, it may give us a chance to practice the techniques of in vitro produce mouse embryo, in vitro culture of mouse embryos, understanding preimplantation development of mammal embryos, immunofluorescent technology, establishment of mouse embryonic stem cells from whole embryos using derivation methods etc... In addition, establishment of mouse ES cell from in vitro fertilized embryos is a new research in Vietnam. This research will contribute for further researches and applications in the field of stem cell and stem cell therapy in Vietnam. Key words: in vitro fertilization, mouse embryo , in vitro culture, preimplantation development, establishment of mouse embryonic stem cells.en_US
