An In Vitro study of anti cancer activity of Paramignya Tremera Ectracts on some cancer cell lines (B16-F10, MCF-7)
Abstract
Paramignya trimera roots harversted from Hon Heo, Vietnam were extracted using percolation and fraction methods. Extraction was carried out using of ethanol 98% in order to completely extract all bioactive compounds available in Paramignya trimera roots. Fractions of coumarins and flavonoids were then obtained from the ethanol crude extract. In vitro study on anticancer activity of Paramignya trimera roots revealed relatively good cytotoxic activity (causing 48.216% and 49.554% cell death) against B16-F10 and MCF-7 cancer cell lines with flavonoid fraction at the concentration of 50 μg/ml. Ethanol extract showed moderate effect on the viability of the two cancer cell lines while coumarin fraction indicated little suppression at the concentration of 50 μg/ml and no impact at 25 μg/ml treatment.
