This study analyzes truss structure to minimize its weight subject to the stress and displacement requirements specified by American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The paper proposed in the thesis called Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) – a meta-heuristics optimization algorithm based on nature phenomena. In GWO algorithm, the leadership hierarchy and hunting mechanism of grey wolves in nature are imitated. Some benchmark problems are investigated using the GWO in present work to investigate the design ability of the proposed algorithms. Then, Finite Element Method – a method is used to defined the elements of mechanical structure is investigated to approach all constraints. Finally, a model of a truss bridge structure will be considered and developed to minimize weight and material cost. The resulta are then compared with other algorithm to prove the effectiveness. The proposed model can support decision makers solve problems in classical engineering designs.
