Study on the chemical constitients and bioactivities of aclipta alba (L.) hassk.
Abstract
Three compounds were successfully isolated from Eclipta alba (L.) Hassk extracts including β – Sitosterol, Wedelolactone and Eclalbasaponin II based on these methods included CC, TLC, LC - MS. The study confirmed the antioxidant of total extract from methanol, n - hexane, ethyl acetate, residue extract and two purify compounds, compared with standard ascorbic acid (SC50 was 16.80 ± 1.14 (μg/mL)). SC50 value for total extract, ethyl acetate extract and EA04 (Wedelolactone) were 58.57 ±6.42, 91.23 ± 1.17 and 3.62 ± 0.002 (μg/mL), respectively. In α -glucosidase inhibitor activity, IC50 values of n – hexane, ethyl acetate, total and residue extracts were 03.67 ± 0.48, 07.50 ± 0.13, 12.76 ± 1.53 and 20.92 ± 1.88 (μg/mL), respectively. Acarbose was positive control (IC50 was 15.5 ± 0.64 (μg/mL)). Furthermore, the Ethyl acetate extract showed the highest cytotoxicity against on HepG2 cell line at screening concentration. The percentage inhibition of Ethyl acetate extract was 25.35 ± 0.74 % while total, n – hexane and residue extracts inhibit lower than 20% which were 19.55 ± 2.12, 12.02 ± 2.66 and 16.17 ± 0.97 (%) at 100 (μg/mL), respectively. The positive control for anticancer activity was Campothecin (IC50 = 0.079 μg/mL).
