Vehicle Routine For Mobile Blood Donation System In Ho Chi Minh City
Abstract
Healthcare logistics is one of the most researched issues in the world with many related fields and blood donation is one of them. In Vietnam, especially in HCM city, blood donation is received lots of attention in recent years which many solutions, decisions have been passed to increase the amount of donated blood for adapting the blood demand. In this study, three new models for mobile blood collection are developed and Ho Chi Minh City is chosen to test which bloodmobiles and shuttle are used. The first and second models design single route for bloodmobiles with two objectives: collect maximize amount of desired blood with minimum transportation cost which use mixed integer linear programming (MILP). The third model design the route for bloodmobiles and shuttle under Vehicle Routing Problem with objective is minimize cost. Proposed models can help to collect desired amount of blood which saving time and cost compared to current model. However; in model 3, designing routes for bloodmobiles bring the better result which the total transportation cost is less nearly twice time than using single route for bloodmobiles. Therefore, model should be applied first in HCM city and it can also be used for others cites and provinces in Vietnam.
