Supplier Selection Using Fuzzy-AHP: A Case Of TBS Group
Abstract
Supplier selection is the process by which firms identify, evaluate, and contract with suppliers. The supplier selection process deploys a tremendous amount of a firm’s financial resources. In return, firms expect significant benefits from contracting with suppliers offering high value material, on-time delivery, right quantity and outstanding quality. This paper discusses a method known as Analytic Hierarchy Process Fuzzy based (Fuzzy AHP) to identify suppliers more thoroughly based on a set of main criteria and sub-criteria. The weights calculated will determine the priority of each criteria and results generated will be the best suppliers which satisfy all the firm’s need in order to potentially develop a long-term partnership with them. This is conducted in a case study of a shoes manufacturing company known as TBS Group to improve their overall performance.
