Agricultural Product Supply Chain Case Study: Pepper In Chau Duc, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, VietNam
Abstract
In recent years, pepper is an agricultural product that has high demand in domestic and abroad market. Vietnam pepper is supposed to have high quality, good appearance and bring a lot of profits for economy. However, increasing pepper area speedily without being controlled or planning result in bad quality, supply over demand, in Chau Duc district. They are reasons for trader to play the main role in buying pepper from farmers and farmers have to sell at low price. The thesis will focus on the analysis on the role of each element in current network and production cost for building an effective supply chain. The data is provided by Vietnam Pepper Association and surveyed from farmers. This report includes parts: forecasting demand, suggesting and designing supply chain network. To be more specific, Winter’s Model method and integer linear programming will be generated for answering questions in this riddle. Finally, by using CPLEX program, the result from this report could be presented to the local authority for solving problems of farmers.
