Supply chain network design case study: Fasteners supply chain of velcro company
Abstract
Fasteners in Vietnam has developed in recent years expressing by the increase of apparel, construction, medical, military, packing and materials, personal care. However, the supply chain of this product in general and especially Hook and Loop are not effective, which carries along a variety of obstacles such as an uncertain forecasting demand, weak supply chain network which leads to high total cost. The paper will focus on providing a variety of techniques including forecasting, supply chain network design on the basis of a Holt-Winter exponential smoothing additive method and mixed integer linear programming (MIP) to solve mentioned problems. Finally, result from the research could be proposed to the local authority in order to develop the long-term fasteners project. However, the marketing plans some related aspects are not mentioned in the study because of limitation of time.
