dc.description.abstract | In the first stage, this thesis does a research on the multi-site production planning problem for a company, the use of manufacturing factories or locations with respect to customers’ preferences, along with production capacity, storage space, workforce level, and resource conditions at the factories. In order to solve multi-site production planning problem a robust optimization is considered where the total cost including production cost, inventory cost, labor cost, and workforce changing cost are kept at the minimum level. An optimal medium-term production planning consisting of production loading strategy and workforce level while distinct economic growth scenarios are considered by modifying penalty parameters. Numerical results are showed to indicate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed model. In addition, this thesis analyzed the trade-off between model robustness and solution robustness. In the second stage, the purpose is to solve the allocation problem for the products in stage one and follow the rules for locating products in different area of the warehouse.
