dc.description.abstract | This thesis seeks solution for inventory optimization of a start-up e-commerce company which needs to handle a variety of customers’ orders and manage inventory in different warehouses weekly. First, six months of sale data of the company was collected and different forecasting methods were applied to seek the most accurate forecasting results of customer demands in 6 months. Next, a mathematical model for inventory replenishment and allocation planning was developed to maximize the company net profit with regard to the forcasted demand. The mathematical model considered main constraints such as warehouses’ capacities, lot size of each SKU, the minimum and maximum order quantity for weekly purchasing. It then was solved by IBM CPLEX, giving an optimal weekly inventory replenishment and allocation plan for the company, resulting a net proft higher than that from the company current inventory scheme.
