dc.description.abstract | Aloe vera is a succulent plant which is widely used in many industrial fields. The aim of this study was to screen for the total phenolic content (TPC) by the Folin- Ciocalteau method, total flavonoid contents (TFC) by the aluminum trichloride method, respectively, and antioxidant activity by the 1,1-Diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay of Aloe vera leaf skin and gel. The highest TPC (43. ±0.185 GAE/g), TFC (4.79 ±0.210 QA/g), IC50 (153.1875 μg/ml) was found in Acetone leaf skin extract. Two methods used to extract tannins and estimate their content in Aloe vera extract which Stiasny’s method and titrimetric method. The contents of hydrolysable and condensed tannins were found to be 18.50% and 1.7%, respectively. | en_US |
