dc.description.abstractTomato is one of popular fruits in Vietnam. Hybrid tomato is cultivated for producing fruits while wild-type tomato is used as rootstock to assist the development of hybrid tomato. Wild-type tomato should be preserved and studied deeply due to its extinction in nature. Nodal segments of wild-type tomato are disinfected effectively at a concentration of 0.1% HgCl2 in 6 minutes. Medium appropriate for plant growth is full strength MS in both wild-type and hybrid tomatoes. MS supplemented without BAP, sucrose 30 g/L is suitable for the process of generating shoot in hybrid tomato while MS supplemented with BAP 0.1 mg/L, sucrose 20 g/L and charcoal active 1.0 g/L is favorable condition for that process in wild-type plant. IAA concentration 0.1 mg/L and 30 g/L sucrose are suitable for rooting process in vitro culture of hybrid tomato meanwhile IAA concentration 0.01 mg/L, 20 g/L sucrose and charcoal active 1.0 g/L fit with wild-type tomato. Hybrid tomato trunk is strong and healthy, thick blade while the trunk of wild-type is succulent and the leaf is dark green.
