Quality management: Applying lean six sigma to improve production process: A case study in tegaco 7
Abstract
Globalization and rapidly access to information, products and services have brought the world so close that it is difficult to maintain the market without innovating in work practices to gain a competitive advantage compared to other countries. The purpose of this thesis is to illustrate the application of Six Sigma DMAIC (definition-measure-analyze-improve-control) method to minimize defects occurring in various processes in the garment industry. An attempt is made to introduce and implement DMAIC methodology in Garment Industry, which particularly is TEGACO 7
The objective of this thesis is to apply the Lean Six Sigma for Line 3 – Sewing Department and from there, it can be analyzed which are the redundancy occurred in Line 3 and then make improvement.
Furthermore, the study also guides the use of a number of software applications, supports calculation, drawing diagrams, finding the best solutions to improve production systems such as Excel and Power Point.
