Production Planning For Kitting Operationa: A Case Study Of Jabil Vietnam
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to develop a detailed descriptive model for production
planning at a kitting facility to support a manufacturing plant, allowing computation of
systems’ economic performances and number of workers. A mathematical model allows
to calculate a number of workers for each kit and determines total system costs by
assessing relevant cost items including the regular time production cost, overtime
production cost, inventory cost, backorder cost, labor cost, and setup changeover cost.
Optimized solution obtained form CPLEX is then tested with different worker yields and
proved to be significantly better than the current performance of the case study company
