dc.description.abstract | This study tackles the issue of order allocation from various sources to various destinations
by means any one of the available transportation modes such as road, rail and sea in a multi
echelon supply chain network including suppliers, manufacturers and distribution centers
in such a way that the total transportation cost is minimized. In this paper, CPLEX is
applied to utilize the power of linear optimization to formulate problems, solve them, and
analyze the solution. The result is supposed to illustrate not only the appropriate amount of
goods transported from suppliers to plants by which transportation mode offering the most
affordable price but also the allocation plan from plants to distribution centers to cope with
demand fluctuation in real-world scenario. | en_US |
