CA/CAM/CNC Application To Manufacture The Mold
Abstract
Nowadays, the application of CAD / CAM / CNC is becoming more and more popular, leading
to the technical requirements of using computers to use design software and fully apply the
capabilities of CNC machines to Machining details that need high precision. Based on the
requirements that society has in the field of precision mechanical processing, this thesis studies
the application of CAD/CAM software, CREO in particular to the design and machining of high
precision molds by CNC 5-axes machine that traditional machines can hardly perform. A case
study is produce helmet shell mold which is a most important part in a helmet structure. The
thesis has based on the average height of Vietnamese people to make a standard head
circumstance to design and process helmet casting molds suitable for the majority of Vietnamese
people. Haas UMC 750 5-axis milling machine will process products in order to serve research.
However, there are some limitations in the machining process as the product requires special
machining tools.
