Based on traditional knowledge about use of noni, the current study was designed to provide scientific proof about beneficial consumption of leaves and fruits of this plant. Three leaf samples and three fruit samples of the same noni plant with different types of extraction were investigated. The findings demonstrated that the M. citrifolia extract contained between 10 and 60 mg GAE/g of flavonoid and phenolic compounds. Antioxidation activity of these extracts by DPPH showed that noni leaves had lower antioxidant activity than fruits and the IC50 ranged from 2-10 mg/mL. The antimicrobial activities were tested by agar disc diffusion and minimum inhibitory concentration. Zone of inhibition measurement showed that M.citrifolia extract was very effective against S. aureus and E.coli strains and the weakest inhibition occurs at 1.25 mg/mL extract. In general, we can conclude that the biological activity of noni fruits extracts is higher than leaves.en_US
