Abstract
With the explosive development of the internet today, social media is a
communication tool to connect people, but also a place to learn and share good
knowledge and lessons. A social network is a platform that enables users to create their
own profiles, connect with others who share their interests, or pursue those interests
directly. Simply connecting all user accounts from various individuals, communities,
and organizations, social media has enabled it easier for online social network ties to
grow. Accessing and exchanging information is one of the main uses of social media
platforms. Even in minority or specialized communities, individuals can locate others
who share their interests and find and share knowledge on a subject if they are unable
to attend in fact. In addition, the article also mentioned that social media will affect
work performance through social capital (network ties, shared vision, trust). However,
the results obtained only shared vision as an intermediary factor of the influence of
social media on work performance. More specifically, the social network that is
considered to contribute to the sharing of knowledge for the community is the LinkedIn
platform. LinkedIn is a professional social network where you can communicate and
build your personal brand through your personal profile, professional articles, opinions,
and ideas and build a community network in the profession. The flow of knowledge is
one that is constantly going forward. Many research studies have also demonstrated
various benefits of sharing knowledge for individuals, groups, and organizations,
including creativity, achievement, and productive strategies for both the individual and
the group.
