Lindera myrrha MEER is an important and commonly used plant for its medicinal and pharmacological properties. This study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant and anti-HepG2 cell line activity of Lindera myrrha MEER roots. For antioxidant activity, DPPH assay was done. The results showed that the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of methanol extract, hexane fraction extract, chloroform fraction extract, ethyl acetate fraction extract, aqueous fraction extract were 0.07 ± 4.49, 0.24 ± 3.36, 0.11 ± 2.79, 0.07 ± 4.09 and 0.16 ± 5.12 mg/mL, respectively. In all of fraction extracts, the ethyl acetate fraction extract exhibited the highest antioxidant activity. For anti-HepG2 cell line activity with MTT assay, at the concentration of 800 µg/mL, hexane fraction extract and chloroform fraction extract inhibited 77.92 ± 2.57%, 62.21 ± 1.04%, respectively. Besides, the methanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction extract and aqueous fraction extract of Lindera myrrha MEER roots did not show any significantly affect viability nor were it toxic to hepG2 cells at effective concentrations.en_US
