dc.description.abstract | The operation system of Ho Chi Minh cremation centers are now outdated and facing
overcrowding of customers and their relatives, especially when the emergency occurs,
which caused serious problems when trying to meet deadlines. To recognize the problem,
a discrete event simulation model was built by using real data to simulate the operation
system, which focuses on the main process from a customer arrives until its process is
finished. Then based on the output data that are tested to be validated, I conducted the
analysis to find the root cause of congestion and lateness. After that, I proposed a new
methodology to tackle the problem. By using the new approach, the number of unmet
deadlines is predicted to reduce at least a half. In the future, this algorithm should be
applied widely to reality to deploy the whole potential of the cremation center. However,
it is difficult to accurately qualify the likely benefits. Further studies for considering
bottlenecks and problems are needed to consider improve the system’s quality. | en_US |
