Application Of Association Rule Data Mining And Discrete Event Simulation In Improving Warehouse Operation And Storage Allocation Strategy: A Case Study Of YCH Company
Abstract
Warehouse Management System (WMS) is the top priority solution to improve customer
satisfaction and reduce inventory cost, which is directly impacted on business performance. In
the competition of logistic industry, the need of an effeciency warehouse and operation
increases rapidly. Beside that many researches about warehousing showed that the awareness
of layout design, management policies and the implement from operations can save cost and
increase profit for enterprises. This thesis examines the application of different improvement
methods in the case of YCH Protrade Binh Duong warehouse, which storages the products of
Suntory Pepsico company. YCH Protrade is facing with the decreasing efficiency in operations
after the request from customer, increase the volume of imported products each month from
17000 pallets to 23000 pallets. The company is now looking for the solution to handle the new
volume, also minimize system errors and nonconformities from operation.
