The increase in demand for power capacity nowadays is responsible for the importance of ensuring a properly, sufficiently operational power supply and transmission network system. Therefore, this paper will involve the 2 criteria of high reliability expressed through the minimization of power deficit or Expected Unsupplied Energy (EUE) and cost-effectiveness expressed through the minimization of network maintenance and operation cost throughout the model formulation. To achieve those goals, this research introduces a mixed integer nonlinear programming model to solve the problem of maintenance and operation for the power system with consideration of power loss during transmission in short-term. Furthermore, the network operation is specifically highlighted in this model through the concepts of power transmission network and transmission loss. Generally, the model is formulated to derive an optimal maintenance schedule for the power generator and power transmission network and minimize the cost for power generation, transmission, and deficit. By minimizing the associated costs, the model will decide the optimal power outage schedule for maintenance and power generation, network utilization. Additionally, the formulation of this model involves the uses of IEEE bus system data as the input for model solving. The result of the proposed model will show its practical and applicable performance.en_US
