Line Balance Of Harness Door Process
Abstract
Competition always happens in any company, in any country. A manufacturing company
that wants to gain a competitive advantage must invest heavily in technology and science.
There are technologies that are very expensive, but there are also technologies that require
only scientific calculation. And line balancing is one such technique. Line balancing is one
of the classic problems for optimizing human resources given under the constraints of the
number of employees, the number of stations, and the number of machines at a station. By
resolving the problem of line balance, we contribute to improve the production capacity of
the whole factory. This thesis solves the problem of line balance in Thermtrol Vietnam's
HARNESS DOOR product line, which has a typical number of tasks and cycle time. We
provide a model that reaches a balance between the required number of stations and
increasing productivity under a variety of staffing limitations. The result is a strategy for
grouping tasks into a single station, and we also provide scenarios for changing demand.
Finally, when demand is reached, we examine and provide more acceptable line-balancing
choices, ensuring their practicability and applicability.
