Carica Papaya leaf has become a common herb in the field of ethnomedicine for decades. This herbal therapy was claimed to have many health benefits associated with its powerful phytochemical contents. The objective of this study was to determine the antioxidant and antibacterial potential of two Carica Papaya leaf samples; one was extracted by conventional method and another was assisted with elevated pressure technology. Once the extracts had been done, phytochemicals would be estimated along with α, α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging method; and lastly, the ability of antibacterial which showed more effectiveness against Gram negative bacteria over Gram-positive strain. Experimental results showed that the percentage yielding of extracts obtained from Speed-Extractor was 1.5 higher than the traditional method. The total phenolic as well as flavonoid contents when applying the new method resulted in significantly improved (P < 0.05), similar results were observed with scavenging ability. On the contrary, there was no significant difference between the two methods in the antimicrobial effects (P > 0.05).en_US
