Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a wild plant growing worldwide and has been cultivated since a long time ago for its strong antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Rosemary essential oil (REO) is renowned for its wide applications in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. This study aimed to investigate the chemical compositions, antimicrobial, and antioxidant activities of both rosemary essential oil and hydrosol. The yield of essential oil was relatively low 0.41 ± 0.1% by micro-assisted extraction machine. The refractive index of the rosemary essential oil was recorded at 1.47. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS) were used to determine the chemical compositions of rosemary essential oil and hydrosol, illustrating that the predominant compounds were α-Pinene (25.182%), Eucalyptol (1,8-cineole) (16.392%),l-Verbenone (8.450%) in essential oil, while Levoverbenone (54.007%), Isoborneol (9.325%),(-)-β-Pinene (9.256%) exhibited mainly in the hydrosol. Rosemary essential oil had a strong ability to inhibit S.Aureus with 11.66 ± 0.57 nm in the zone inhibition test, but the inhibitory effect on E Coli was not shown. Both rosemary oil and hydrosol obtained TPC values of 220.821 ± 0.275 mg and 11.813 ± 0.075 mg, and 37.073 ± 0.041 mg and 4.013 ± 0.115 mg of TFC values, respectively. Rosemary essential oil also exhibited high antioxidant activity determined by DPPH assay. The produced rosemary essential oil alcohol-based hand sanitizer (ABHS) was determined in pH, and viscosity and assessed disinfection efficiency by antimicrobial test on hand and fingertips. The results of this study are expected to verify the chemical compositions of rosemary essential oil in Lam Ha - Lam Dong province in order to further study its application in various fieldsen_US
