Developmental Potential Of Mouse Androgenetic Embryos During Preimplantation Development
Abstract
In this study, we examined the developmental potency and the quality of
androgenetic ICR mouse embryos during preimplantation development. In order
to produce androgenetic diploid embryos, the metaphase II chromosome of
mature oocytes was taken out, two sperms head were injected into enucleated
oocytes by micro-manipulator system. The survival oocytes were then cultured in
the in vitro development culture until the blastocyst stage. Our result showed that
the androgenetic embryos developed to morula stage with 5.9% and were blocked
at this stage while ICSI embryos could reach to blastocyst stage with 13.9%. We
found that during the preimplantation developmental time, the survival rate of ICR
oocytes after enucleation and injection is quite low and the developmental rate of
androgenetic embryos was obviously lower than that of ICSI embryos. This study
also showed that creating the androgenetic embryos using manipulator is timeconsuming process required the high technique skill and ICR mouse strain may
not was suitable of generating androgenetic embryos.
