dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted to evaluate the effect of probiotic products on growth stimulation, immune response, and prevention of acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) in white leg shrimp after 28 days of use. Shrimp length and weight were measured periodically every 7 days, and immunological parameters were collected on the same day. The test results showed that probiotic and postbiotic applications improved the overall water quality via TAN (total ammonia nitrogen) and nitrite contents. In this testing conditions, these applications did not negatively impact growth in length and weight compared with the control treatment, and the additions also gave some indications on potential benefits in longer duration and at large scale. Total hemocyte counts, granular, hyaline cell count, and cortisol levels did not show clear differences or evidences between treatments to conclude solid beneficial supplements on these aspects. While the Pro Mac product showed good protection for shrimp with AHPND after 28 days of feeding with a mortality rate after 14 days of immersion was 20%, statistically significant (p<0.05) lower than the control group, which was 44%.en_US
