Managers and hoteliers in Vietnam are addressing ways to enhance their employees’ environmental performance in order to reduce their negative impacts of their hotels’ operation on the environment and natural habitats, which is a critical problem discussed in recent years; however, there is still a lack in empirical test and investigation towards this concern. Therefore, this study was conducted with the purpose of investigating the factors affecting employees’ environmental performance in some 5-star hotels and resorts in the South-Central region of Vietnam. The data is collected from 6 provinces and 1 municipality in this area apart from Quang Ngai province because there have not been any 5-star property in this area yet. Regarding the research methodology and approach, quantitative method combining with deductive approach was chosen to establish the study. By using convenience and snowball sampling methods, through both online forms and paper surveys, the researchers received 315 valid responses to carry out the data analysis process in their study. PLS-SEM approach and the two statistical software, namely SPSS and Smart PLS 3.0, will be utilized to analyze the data. Regarding the results of the research, Green Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation, Green Innovation, and Proactive Environmental Management Maturity are influenced by Green Human Resource Practices. After that, the findings reveal the positive and significant impacts of Green Intrinsic Motivation, Green Innovation, and Proactive Environmental Management Maturity on Employees’ Environmental Performance, followed by their partial mediating effects on the relationship between Green Human Resource Practices and Employees’ Environmental Performance. On the other hand, the study also indicates that Green Extrinsic Motivation has an insignificant effect on Employees’ Environmental Performance; as a result, this type of motivation does not play a mediating role between Green Human Resource Practices and Employees’ Environmental Performance. The findings of this results will be discussed, and theoretical and practical implications will be proposed based on the discussion. The implications of this survey will provide managers and decision-makers at 5-star hotels and resorts in Vietnam South-Central coast with solutions that can enhance their Employees’ Environmental Performance as well as provide future researchers with a reliable reference for their research in the environment aspect of the hotel sector.en_US
