dc.description.abstract | This thesis examines the adoption dynamics of QR code payments among Generation
Y (Gen Y) in Vietnam, a pivotal demographic for the country's digital economy. It
explores the evolution of payment methods and analyzes the adoption of QR code
payments, considering technological advancements, consumer preferences, and
governmental initiatives. The study aims to identify factors influencing Gen Y's
inclination towards QR payments, establish a causal relationship with adoption
behavior, and assess their awareness of QR code payments.
Using a quantitative approach with a structured questionnaire, the research targets
176 participants in Ho Chi Minh City between October 5th and January 3rd. This
thesis explores the adoption of QR code mobile payments, emphasizing demographic
characteristics and factors influencing user intentions. Demographic analysis reveals
prevalent usage among certain groups, with notable positive perceptions towards PE,
EE, SI, FC, UI, and RI variables. Reliability testing and convergent validity analyses
affirm internal consistency and validity. Discriminant validity is established through
Fornell-Larcker criteria. Confirmatory Factor Analysis demonstrates a well-fitting
model. SEM supports hypotheses, indicating positive impacts of various factors on
user intention, subsequently influencing recommended intention.
The findings are expected to offer valuable insights for policymakers, market
researchers, and businesses, despite acknowledged limitations, contributing to the
ongoing evolution of QR code payments in Vietnam | en_US |
