This study explores how green knowledge management (GKM) influences green intellectual capital (GIC) within small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam, focusing on the mediating roles of employee engagement (including job engagement and organization engagement), and the moderating role of artificial intelligence (AI). Using knowledge-based and resource-based view theories, the research employs a questionnaire-based survey with 233 respondents, analyzed via partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings reveal that GKM positively impacts green human capital (GHC), with job engagement significantly mediating the relationship between GKM and various GIC constructs (GHC, green structural capital, and green relational capital). Organization engagement mediates the GKM and green structural capital relationship. Conversely, AI negatively moderates the GKM-GHC relationship. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how GKM affects GIC, highlighting the complex interplay of employee engagement and technology in shaping organizational capabilitiesen_US
